Neonatal Ventilator with HFOV

Home Services

At Avisha Children’s Hospital, our Neonatal Ventilator equipped with High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV) represents the pinnacle of respiratory support for critically ill newborns. HFOV is an advanced mode of mechanical ventilation that delivers very rapid, small breaths to gently and effectively assist fragile lungs in babies suffering from respiratory failure, pulmonary hypertension, or severe lung disease.

Non-Invasive Ventilation:
Non-invasive ventilation is the first line of respiratory support for newborns experiencing mild to moderate breathing difficulties. Using techniques like CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) and BiPAP, gentle airflow is delivered through nasal prongs or masks to keep the airways open. This approach reduces the need for intubation, lowers the risk of complications, and is especially beneficial for premature infants with underdeveloped lungs.

Invasive Ventilation & HFOV:
For critically ill newborns requiring more advanced respiratory support, invasive ventilation is provided through an endotracheal tube connected to a mechanical ventilator. In more severe cases, we use High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV), a specialized technique that delivers rapid, low-volume breaths to protect delicate lung tissue. HFOV is particularly effective for conditions such as respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and pulmonary hypertension. Our skilled neonatology and respiratory therapy team carefully manage this treatment to ensure precise, safe, and effective care.
